top 15 posts

As we move into 2015, I thought it would be fun to look back at what were the most popular posts visited on this website during 2014.

Since Wikipedia proved that crowdsourcing knowledge works, I hope this list of the most popular posts will be useful to you.

I have decided to limit the list to the top 15 posts, as an homage to the coming year.

Top 15 Blog Posts

1.  22 Awesome Bar Exam Tips — My collection of tips to take you from registering for the bar exam, through bar prep, and then taking the bar exam itself. Not a surprise this was the most popular post.

2. Gifts for Recent Bar Passers — I am a bit surprised this is on the list, much less at number 2.

3. Uniform Bar Exam – A Primer — With the growing number of jurisdictions administering the UBE, it seems that people want general information about the test and links to helpful study aids. This post provides that information.

4. Bar Exam Schedule: The Final Two Weeks — The final two weeks before the bar exam are very important. This post offers my suggestions for how to spend those final two weeks. I am not surprised to see it in the top 10.

5. Gifts for the Bar Exam Student — Again, I am somewhat surprised to see another gift post in the top 10. I guess it just proves that people who haven’t studied for the bar don’t know what might be helpful, and are seeking advice.

6. Does Melatonin Really Help You Sleep? — This post talks about my three-night experiment using melatonin. (Obviously, I am not a doctor, so check with a health care provider if you want to try melatonin.)

7. Notes of a Bar Exam Repeater — This post compares the two times I took the bar exam, and derives some lessons that can help you with your bar preparations.

8. Bar Exam Study Schedule – Overtraining — This post warns against the dangers of studying too much, and the fatigue it can cause.  It may seem counter-intuitive, but you can study too much.

9. Working During Bar Exam Studies — This is a guest post from a friend of mine who was working as a full-time attorney in California while she studied for the New York bar exam. A very insightful post if you have to combine work and study.

10. Efficient Bar Exam Prep — A rumination on why you should consider your studying in terms of efficient use of energy rather than as a never-ending grind.

11. Strategies and Tactics for the MBE – A Review — This post is a book review of the ever-popular Strategies and Tactics for the MBE. If you need some help with the MBE, read this post and decide if the book might be right for you.

12. Bar Exam Preparation Level Set — This post suggests that you address certain issues at the start of bar prep in order to make your preparations go more smoothly.

13. Do You Need a Bar Prep Course to Pass the Bar Exam? — This post gives you my answer.

14. Food for Focus and Concentration — This post pulls together the nutritional advice from numerous sources and summarizes it for your consideration. If you are having difficulty concentrating, it could be due, at least in part, to the foods you are consuming.

15. One Weird Trick for MBE Success — This is a guest post from a friend of mine from law school. Her method for approaching the MBE blew my mind, but makes a lot of sense. I have heard from several people who have tried this technique and find it useful.
