You need to ask yourself this question as you prepare for the bar exam:
What is blocking me from success on the bar exam?
The process of studying for the bar takes a lot of time, and if things are getting in your way or taking away your energy, then your studies will become inefficient, and it will be that much more difficult to pass.
If you are repeating the bar exam after not passing, take an hour to contemplate what, if anything, happened to distract you from your studies.
If this will be your first time taking a bar exam, think about what you can do to make your studies as efficient and effective as possible.
Some situations to consider include:
- inability to focus for an extended period
- family problems
- poor time management
- ineffective study schedule
- not enough practice tests
- not enough time spent analyzing practice tests
- bad luck
- unexpected illness
- failure to plan for known events (e.g. cousin’s wedding)
Be sure to read my post about performing a bar exam level set and think about the topics discussed.
The sooner you can eliminate inefficiencies and distractions from your bar exam studies, the better your odds of success.
